I found these precepts when I was reading today. "Hope is a thing with feathers." Emily Dickinson "It's a small world after all." Walt Disney What do you think of these? Would you take them as yours? Let's blog about what we are reading or precepts we found that we like or whatever you want that has to do with reading. Looking forward to hearing from you. Mrs. Keppler
Via says, "August is the Sun and Me and mom and dad are the planets orbiting the sun. The rest or our family and friends are asteroids and comets floating around the planets orbiting the sun."
What do you think she means when she says this? Now that you have Via's point of view, how do you feel towards her? Do you agree with what she says? Do you think you would like to watch the Ghost and Mrs. Muir over summer break? Mr. Browne's October precept, " Your deeds are your monuments." What does this mean to you? How do you think it will apply to Auggie? The author threw a surprise into the story. What do you think of Jack Will now? Will Auggie return to school? What do you think about the pictures in this section?
Last week we read about Mr. Browne's precepts. What is a precept? " When given the choice between being right or being kind , choose kind." What do you think this precept means? How could this precept be helpful to Auggie? Do you think you would take this precept to be apart of who you are? There is no wrong answer with the last question. Just give your opinion. How did you like these latest pictures?
We have been introduced to three students at Beecher Prep, Charlotte, Julian, and Jack Will. What are your feelings about each of them? Who do you think will be helpful to Auggie? Most importantly, what is the big idea the author wants us to know at the end of reading today? Hope you enjoyed the pictures on the blog from our last readings.
After going to Wonder-August below make a prediction on these words."They say I must be one of the wonders of God's own creation and as far as they can see they can offer
no explanation" " Fate smiled and destiny laughed as she came to my cradle.." What do you think these lines mean from the song? How will they be important in the book we are beginning to read?
